Jerry Whitsett currently servers in a multiple of positions with multiple companies. The longest tenure is with M.R. Whitsett Inc. Having founded the company in 1993, it stands today as one of the largest minority owned firms in Nevada. As its Chief Executive Jerry has guided the firm for 28 years, having overseen the business as it participates in the Hospitality and Aviation industries. Seatac Bar Group, also in the Hospitality and Aviation arena, was founded by Jerry Whitsett in 2003. This Washington based operation received a national award for its restaurants designs and decor. The most recent firm, W.R. Properties was created by Jerry and his Partners as a real estate holding company. It manages commercial, office, and residential properties.

A resident of Nevada for over Fifty years, Jerry Whitsett graduated High School in Las Vegas. In 1986 he received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. That same year he received a Commission as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army. His service would include tours in Honduras and Saudi Arabia (Desert Storm). This experience has increased Jerry’s dedication to Veterans and members of the Armed Forces.

Service to the community is a core belief for Jerry Whitsett. For Ten years he would coach little league Basketball at the YMCA. He would sponsor numerous little league teams: track and field, and soccer. Jerry’s philanthropy included Rancho High School and UNLV and many scholarships. He served on the boards of the Nevada Black Chamber of Commerce, NAACP (local Branch). He currently sits on the advisory board of City National Bank.
